Additively manufactured body armor

Modern shaping methods, such as Additive Manufacturing (AM) allow to produce tailored body armor as well as to pursue new concepts that enable, for example, a bulkhead construction in a shaping process or the integration of other materials in a component thanks to the freedom of design. Fraunhofer IKTS not only deals with modern shaping methods, but also with the associated material development and characterization, which are the keys to a successful product and close the process chain.
