GC Shield technoloigy has also been developed for Vehicle Armour.
Much lighter than standard vehicle armour which has significant benefits to a broad range of armoured vehicles – delivering greater protection at a lighter weight.
The armour has been tested to STANAG Levels 1, 2 & 3 for blast and ballistic.
At STANAG Ballistic Level 2, our GC Shield stopped 22 rounds of 7.62 x 39mm API BZ (armour-piercing incendiary) – this is the main armour-piercing round that is used with AK-47 Kalashnikovs.
At Ballistic Level 3, our GC Shield stopped 22 rounds of 7.62 x 51mm AP WC (armour-piercing tungsten carbide core) – this is the main armour-piercing round used by NATO in sniper rifles and general-purpose machine guns. The sharpened tungsten carbide core and high speed (930 metres per second) makes it particularly hard to stop, even for armoured vehicles.
